Book Report.
1. Give some general information about the book
A. The title is: One Frog Can Make A Difference.
B. The real author pretends like the book is written by Kermit the Frog, but of course we all know that the real author is Robert P. Riger.
C. It was first published in 1993.
2. Explain the title of the book
A. It means that one frog (Kermit the Frog) can have a great influence on very many people. Because many people in the world are a great fan of Kermit (including myself...).
B. I would call it: Kermit, finding the tadpole within.
3. Who are the main characters in the book?
A. Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy.
B. Kermit is a very wise, humorous, green frog. In the Netherlands we know him as a chaotic journalist at Sesamstraat. But in this book you really get to know his spiritual side and about the (un)romantic frog deep within.
Miss Piggy is a, well, fat pig. She herself thinks she's an unstoppable, very sexy diva and she is totally in love with Kermit. In the book you can see how she is trying to help Kermit find his inner self.
4. Describe
A. There are so many little problems in the book, but I think Kermits biggest problem is that Miss Piggy is so in love with him, but for him she's just a friend.
B. No it's not.
C. Well, maybe he should think about it once more. Or have a nice, serious conversation with Miss Piggy to tell her he is not in love with her, and will never be.
5. If you could be one of these characters who would you be? Why?
I would be Kermit himself. In a girl-version ofcourse.
6. Wich scene or event made most impression on you? Why?
I don't know, because the book consists from 27 very short chapters and in every part an other subject is discribed. Maybe the part in wich he's going to France. Or the Fly-Fishing-With-Kermit, Fly-Fish-Do-It-Yourself chapter...
7. What is the theme of your book?
The main theme is Kermit, looking for his spiritually inner self.
8. Do you think the book has a good ending? Explain your answer.
Yes, because he explains his interpretation of the word 'Taoism'. And he tells us that the best way to live a calm, peaceful life, totally in balance with yourself, is to accept yourself as you are. Like Kermit says: 'It's easy being green.'
9. Give a summary of the book in your own words. Use about 100 words.
Miss Piggy gets into a big self-help thing, and begins reading books about her inner life, her inner child's life, her inner past etcetera. But after a few minutes of soul-searching, she decides she isn't the one who needs help, Kermit is. And that is how it all starts. Kermit starts reading spiritual books and he has long (and expensive) telephone channeling sessions with people who tell him everything about his past lives (and- how surprising - in all his past lifes he at least was a presidents' frog, or an Ancient- Egyptian frog who accidentally kicked this reed basket with a baby in it to the Pharao's palace). In the book he tells you all about his spiritual adventures. But beyond that he tells so much more! From Frogrestaurant-recipes to Frogs in the Military. Read and discover who that green, funny animal is, on the inside.
10. Give your opinion about the book supported by at least one good argument.
I love the book. Because I love Kermit too. He has a very nice personality and actually is a very good writer too! The book contains very useful solutions to all kind of problems (think about what to do when your in a not-fly/worm/grubs-serving restaurant, and you really want to eat flies/worms/grubs). A book what's worth the reading!
